A vacationer who tried to make an insurance claim worth thousands with a made-up story about being robbed in remote places has been exposed as a fraudster via his personal sketchy “proof.” The consumer informed his Australian insurer he’d had $7000 worth of property stolen, including a computer, digicam, sunglasses, and garments, on a bus ride from Hyderabad to Vijayawada in India.
To help the declaration, he supplied an in-depth, digitally signed file from the Hyderabad police that described the instances of the alleged robbery.
The record, provided to information.Com.Au, said CCTV captured any other passenger — who became diagnosed via call and age in the record — getting off the bus with the customer’s stolen cabin bag.
The file stated the name and badge variety of the police officer assigned to the case.
