The Southworth Ferry has been in operation since the early 1800s, transporting people and goods between the Kitsap Peninsula and Seattle. The trip is longer but still doable in a car if you are coming from Bremerton. Once you arrive in Bainbridge Island, follow the signs to the Southworth Ferry. Once you get to the ferry, grab a seat and wait for the ferry to arrive. The Southworth Ferry does not dock in West Seattle. You will need to drive to Alki Beach or Western Avenue and catch the next ferry back to Seattle. The last return ferry leaves Alki at 10 pm and returns to Seattle at 11:45 pm.

What to do on the Southworth Ferry

The Southworth Ferry is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. You can sit on the deck and enjoy the view or go for a walk on the beach. You can take the ferry to get there or go down 42nd St. A bus goes from Downtown Seattle to West Seattle and then to Southworth Ferry. – 86 Squaw Bay (West Seattle). The Squaw Bay Light Station, now an open space with a view of the Seattle skyline, is on the west side of Squaw Island (a small sand bar extending into the Puget Sound from southern West Seattle) in the Squaw Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
